Your are probably familiar with Apple App Store. As a matter of fact Salesforce.com copyrighted the name and launched the first worldwide store, in 2005, 3 years before Apple. However, Salesforce.com changed the name to AppExchange and decided to give the copyright for App Store to Apple. AppExchange is the business application store for Salesforce.com with free and paid solutions.
4. Salesforce.com has more than 20,000 employees and $6.67 billion in revenue
The company started 17 years ago, however managed to scale up quickly and become a leader in its market. Considering all the existing partners of Salesforce.com, which we are, the Salesforce.com community worldwide is huge!
5. There are 2.3 billion transactions averaged by business per day
Well, what can we say – Salesforce.com supports many customers, as of 2016 there are more than 150,000!
6. Salesforce.com is the fastest growing company to reach $5 billion revenue
Marc Benioff, Salesforce.com CEO, commented “Salesforce reached $5 billion in annual revenue faster than any other enterprise software company and now it’s our goal to be the fastest to reach $10 billion”. Considering the year-on-year jump in revenue, definetely Salesforce.com is on the right track.
7. Salesforce.com has acquired 43 companies
Many of the building blocks of Salesforce.com and its Clouds are actually softwares developed by other companies. Later on those were bought by Salesforce.com in order to build a resilient offering to customers. To date, some of the most expensive purchases reach $2.8 billion. One of the latest examples is acquiring MetaMind which “helps power the world’s smartest CRM by embedding state-of-the-art deep learning technology into the Salesforce Platform”, namely Einstein.
8. The 326m Salesforce Tower
Salesforce.com holds the title name of the ‘tiny’ tower based in San Francisco. It measures 326 meters in height spread across 61 floors.
